GP Registrars
The practice has been selected to train hospital doctors in the skills of General practice. The Registrars come to us after having completed a minimum of three years in hospital specialities. Nowadays many of them have a significant amount of experience and have developed areas of expertise. In order to set out on a career path in General practice they must spend a year in a training practice such as ours.
How the Practice Works
The Practice is a Partnership. We have five clinical GP Partners, one Cardiologist Partner, and two retainer GPs – Details of the GPs can be found here on our staff page. All patients have a named GP, however, you are able to see any of the team. We are a training Practice and have a number of trainee GPs working with us. These are all supervised by one of the clinical Partners at all times.
GP net earnings 2023/24
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g., average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Watercress Medical Group in the last financial year was £59,783 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP, 7 part time GPs and 1 Locum who worked in the practice for more than six months.
