Patient Communication Update

To help keep our patients informed and improve communication, our practice will increasingly be using text messages to share important surgery updates, appointment reminders, and prompts to book routine reviews and follow-up appointments.

Healthcare is a shared responsibility between patients and the practice. If a clinician advises you to arrange a review appointment in the future (for example, in 3 or 6 months), it is important that you contact the surgery to book this when it becomes due. We may send reminder text messages where possible, but patients remain responsible for arranging recommended follow-up appointments.

To ensure you receive these messages, please make sure we have your current mobile phone number and contact details on record.

Thank you for helping us keep communication efficient and ensuring you receive the care and follow-up you need.

GP Update

Tracy Wood has retired from the practice and we wish her well with her future endeavours.

We will be advertising for a Doctor to replace her in the next few weeks.

New extended online consultation hours from 1 October

From Wednesday 1 October, we will be extending our online consultation provision from 8am to 6.30pm. This is in line with new NHS England guidance.

We also have our new patient charter which sets out what our patients can expect from us and how patients can support us. This can be found here.

As we work together to make improvements there are a few things that you can do to help support us, these are:

  1. Be prepared: Before an appointment, think about writing down your symptoms, what you are worried about and what you want to talk about.
  2. Be on time: Being late for an appointment or being unavailable for a timed call-back can affect other patients.
  3. Cancel if needed: If you can’t go to your appointment, tell us as soon as you can, so we can offer it to someone else.
  4. Use the NHS App or website: If you’re confident using smart phones or computers, you can book or cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and see your test results online.
  5. Turn on notifications: If you use the NHS App, turn on notifications so we can contact you more easily.  Please keep an eye out for messages.
  6. Order repeat medicines on time: Make sure you ask for repeat prescriptions on time, so you don’t run out, and only order what you need.
  7. Join the Patient Participation Group: we have a group of patients who offer feedback on the services we deliver. To find out more about the PPG follow this link

If you have any questions, or any feedback regarding the practice please contact us on 01420 562922.
